Went to club to work on the #$%#^& Honda 8 and guess what? It had been healed and started five times! Didn't do anything different, but it did start.

In the afternoon we went sailing, first for the year in absolutely delightful conditions. Hull down wind and upwind with about 110 unrolled. The day was beautifully sunny and warm, and there was no signs of ice on the lake.

So now we'll see, maybe tomorrow or next week. We have moved to the lake for the summer, so maybe we can get some evening sails in this week, and we'll see what the ###$%^#%% Honda does!

Thanks for your comments and advise and wisdom.

I'm pretty impressed the cleaning effect of Techron fuel additive on my old BMW's fuel system.
(Techron cleans injectors, carbs, and de-carbonizes)

Going to try use Techron treated fuel in the outboards from now own too. May help keep things clean and running well (not that I've had any problems.... yet)

Don,

Glad to hear that your motor has seen the light. May it be ever so. "Ice on the lake", in New York, Gotta be a typo I'm thinking?

Have a great season.

Val, you commented,

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> "Ice on the lake", in New York, Gotta be a typo I'm thinking?
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

and I said,

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>and there was no signs of ice on the lake.
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

I'm not sure what you picked up, but I don't think I had a typo. After our long hard winter, the ice is gone, and people are swimming in the lake (without wet suits!)

Aren't we supposed to recognize someone who has performed a miracle? I wouldn't want to short change someone who might be nominated for sainthood in the future . . . we might also have to clean-up the superlatives in the initial post of this thread in the event religious historians need reference material substantiating this event . . . any witnesses to add for the record here Don? Come to think of it, isn't the founder of Honda is already deceased <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> ?

Yeah, they call themselves the Polar Bear Club.....<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> I must have missed all the lamenting about Honda's, I've been enjoying mine immensly in, apparently, ignorant bliss.......

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> the superlatives in the initial post of this thread<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

I don't think they are superlatives, but expletives. I say leave them there. They're authentic and genuine, and IMO this miracle/sainthood thing is highly overrated.....<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

Derek:

Do y'awl take baths on the scalding waters of Canyon Lake?

OJ:

Give credit for the person doing the miracle? Do we really want to go there? If so, the superlatives belong because they speak of the character of the #$%*^%*(* Honda on my boat before the miracle. Besides if we go there Brooke and I will have to preach on this web site. I don't know aout Brooke but one a week is enough for me.

BTW.

I wnet to the club last night and went out to osmepneo and tried the motor. It started! Now it is officially on probation.

Don - when the air temp is 95+ degrees, the water is perfect to grab a beer, a cushion and a floppy hat and just bob around with the other sailors just chewing the fat...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> When it gets below 75 degrees I don't even go in it!

Derek,

You're not a polar bear! <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>

You're right that when it's 95 out, 85 will seem comfortable - good for floating around in a tub or whatever.

When it's 95 why up north, the lake is 75 max, and a dive in is ultra refreshing, especially if the humidity is high.

When we lived in Houston, I was contaminated by the heat and humidity, and now struggle with the heat more than the cold.

Hope our paths cross sometime.
