Hello,

I would like to get at the mast wiring but have not found access because of the liner. Does anyone have experience getting between the liner and deck?

Thanks for reading,

Donald

I don't think you can get in there. I ran new wiring from the mast into the cabin, down through the port settee (drilled a hole) into the storage area below, and then to the panel.

When I rewired mine, I had to drill a hole angled forward down through the deck where the mast wiring plug was. This brought it into the head area just in front of the bulkhead. Then ran it along the bulkhead/ceiling? joint to the starboard side and back to the panel.

Did the same thing as John above, Drilled through at angle into head and ran along the cabin top to the area under the port deck and drilled a hole in the bulkhead to lead the wires aft. It works and no one ever sees (or cares) the wiring in the head area! Did the same on the other side for my VHF cable from antenna mounted on the masthead. Good luck!

Donald, the mast wiring was glassed under the deck when our boats were built. It is impossible to remove them or use them to pull new wires through. Once the wire bundle disappears over the port warehouse bulkhead it is inaccessible until it emerges at the deck connector. (Catalina didn't leave enough excess to remake connections here either - which is why a lot of the guys have rewired as per the previous posts).
