Frank recently made comments about this motor being reintroduced. Do you have any other details... changes for example? Of specific concern is will it be available in XLS.

Just called Honda and got the answer... It is available now...as the Honda 8 Classic. It is not available in an XLS.

And,I would assume, no plans for adding an XLS anytime soon?

Paul,

The lady I talked with seemed quite knowldegable of their product line. I offered that an xls was desirable for the 8 Classic as it has most of the other virtues important to sailboats. Moderate weight, fuel economy, good power, reliable, easy to start and doesn't port exhaust thru the prop killing reverse thrust.

She was not aware of any movement to offer it as an xls but said she would pass my thoughts up the line.

This was unfortunate news as the 8 Classic with xls would be a good offering. It is however available in a long which is 22.5 inches. It has never been available in electric start and IMHO doesn't need it... it starts very easily.
