I just got done emailing Spike, our Association Web person. I offered to compile a list of links, contacts and everything else under the sun to make our links section extremely beneficial and Robust.

The next step is collecting links and contacts that you use.

Sail lofts
Obscure Chandleries
Informational stuff
Sailing Quizes
Fleet Pages
Personal Web Pages of members - Arlyn, Mark...
That small store on the corner that is the only place on the planet that carries the little part that we know about
Steve and Joe - contact info for the products you have come up with
Weather links
Racing links
Your current Yacht club links

You all get the idea. I will sort through all of them, remove dupes and categorize them for spike to put on the links page. My list above is not all inclusive, so send it to me. Hey, Val and Don, I already get enough P@n!$ enlargement spam, so you don't have to send me that link.

Contact names and or numbers would be useful too for some of those places that still don't use the web.

Please post your links here or email them to me at duanewolff@yahoo.com Please put Catalina 25 in the subject line.

Thanks,
Duane

A few obscure ones (so obscure they don't have sites):

BELLPAT MARINE 1260 S. COUNTRY ROAD
BELLPORT- (631)286-8368
...makers of custom sheaves, with precise specs for sheaves for converting to external rope halyards for the C-25. Nobody else in the world (that we know of) makes them with the correct diameter and width.

Joe Martinek-- joemartinek@starband.net
...maker of widely-acclaimed, high quality, inexpensive stainless mast gate plates for the C-25.

What about the "The Mother of All Maritime Links" web page?

<font size=2> <font face='Comic Sans MS'> May I suggest that the links on our web site relate directly to our boats? Like parts, maintenance, navigation , weather etc. that our members use often and then offer some of the more grand link pages like The Mother of all Maritime Links at the end.
If we list every link we ever came across the links page may become too cumbersome and there are quite a few all encompassing link sites that we don’t need to compete with. I know I’ve got over 50 sites in my “favorites” sailing folder. We could end up with hundreds of sites, all good, but not directly related to the C25 or the C250.
Our web site is the C25/C250 web site and I think we should use that as our criteria for all the pages.

Underlined words are a <font color=red> <font size=3> HOT </font id=red> </font id=size3> link.
Click on the “Peregrine” icon.

Regarding John's concerns, if we categorize the links and other information appropriately, we should be able to find what we want. My guess is that somewhere between 7 and 12 categories would do it.

When I offered the "Mother of all Maritime Links" pages, I was being somewhat facetious because I could see how assembling everyone's link lists could get a little out of hand.

A few obscure ones (so obscure they don't have sites):

<font size=2> <font face='Comic Sans MS'>Dave’s listings are great. I think they would be very helpful to our members.
I may order a second set of mast gates “just in case”. <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
I’m just saying there should be some criteria to limit the page.

Here is one of our local fleets.
http://www.lcsaonline.com/
Home of C250 Fleet #1

A couple of the mega sites like The Mother of all Maritime Links and of course Mark Rosenstein’s Sailing Page would be useful just to direct the members to a wider maritime view of the web.
