One of my winter projects for "Even Chance" (C25 SKTR # 5050) is to install one of those nifty solar/battery powered round ventilators somewhere forward, to help move the air through the boat from the companionway vents and preve

I don't have a solar ventilator on my Catalina, but a buddy of mine has one on his O'day 30. It is located right smack dab in the middle of his hatch. I am not exactly sure if we are talking about the same thing, but stepping on the hatch sho

Good Question, I am planing to install a solar vent somewhere on the foredeck. I think the hatch is the spot. I believe most of the vents come with flush covers, for when the vent is removed. I was also looking for some ideas on how to vent the stdb aft

What about right above the head ? or just opposite above the hanging locker or sink area.

Brooke: I put mine (many years ago) "smack dab in the middle of the hatch"...No complaints; no regrets; still works great.

Hi Brooke--Happy New Year to you as well.
I have a solar powered vent located on the centerline of the boat in the middle of the head compartment. Seems a well placed fixture there, I seldom step on it, but when I do it seems not to mind. Biggest prob

The previous owner of my C25 put it right in the middle of the foredeck. Am constantly triping over the darn thing. If I had it to do over again I would put it in the hatch. It does a great job. We are on the Gulf Coast of Texas and the solar powered uni

Thanks, guys. Sounds like the hatch is the place. That's where I was leaning. Val, I often sit with my back against the mast while the tillerpilot steers, and sitting on the ventilator might be more excitement than I could take!

Brooke, I am pretty sure that Terry Annis put a portlight in the cockpit of Lematike (sp), formerly Dragon's Tail out of Ken's Cave! You might ask him what he did and how it works. I saw his boat this summer and he seemed real proud of it. You can get
