The Northeast is at the neck of a meteorologic funnel that's been pumping thunderstorms and rain squalls and 95-100% humidity day and night since some time last week, expected to continue through this week, over the weekend and into next. If I'm cluttering up the forum with drivel, now you know why. #$&(^ &(%$%$ ##% $^%#@!
OK, I feel a little better now... Keep up the good work.

Maybe you'd enjoy reading the nearshore forecast for San Diego? It's 85F right now and forecast 90F for the weekend. Not a cloud in the sky. Fish are biting, and my entire family is coming sailing Saturday. Let's hope the trusty Honda BF8A starts up!

Dave, we feel for you!...Our Summer has been one the best in several years in Central Texas..We even have wind in July & August which is not usual...Wierd weather everywhere this year.. Steve
I had knee surgery yesterday, and the doc has ordered me to stay home for two weeks. He had to do a lot more repair than anticipated. Hurts like hell. Don't know when I'll be back on the boat. At least this gives me time to read Nigel Calder's book. I also picked up Don guilette's book on sail trim.
Wow! Torn achilles, knee surgery,... And I'm complaining about the weather! Get better, Bruce & Frank!

This week has been great, mid 80's few days in the 90's. Last few weeks before we had your rain, humidity, and thunder here in Central California. On top of that it was in the 100's. Killer. Hope the knee turns out OK, it's amazing what they can do now adays with their microscopes and tinny drills.

Having grown up in the NE I would say we have had New Englands summer here in the Ohio Valley, cool for here and some wind most of the time. Sorry Dave my sisters in RI have been expressing your seniments likewise.

I know the feeling Dave! This has been the wettest Jan - Jul on records EVER in Virginia with the same "funnel" hanging overhead this week & next! I'm sick of the rain! We've managed to get some good day sailing in, but its August & we've only anchored out overnight once. I don't care what the forecast is - I'm going sailing this weekend!
Don't feel like the lone ranger!!!!!!!!!!. If you ever a good laugh, look up zip 32244 at www.nws.noaa.gov. I put in my new 88 wing 3 weeks ago and have been hit by T storms EVERY time I have been out. I have sailed about 1 total mile so far. Yeah!I will continue to be persistant. I am lucky to have a mooring 3 miles from the house. As long as I don't get struck by lightning the admiral put up with it.
Dave, this Saturday is questionable, but Sunday looks like a good day to go out. I share your frustration. It seems like the few good weekend days have seen me booked with un-getoutable, non-sailing obligations! Good Luck, Charles in Noank
Hi Charles... Got your computer in Noank, eh? Satellite communications from your mooring at Spicers?
We'll be over there Sat., walking the Mystic art show, and if the weather holds, sailing off Noank on our friends' Mystic 30. We'll watch for Teasel/Teasle (?) out there.
Good luck back to you...

1. Prayers for both ClamBeach and Frank. Pray for quick recoveries!
2. As well documented the NE is wet, wet, weter . . .. I think this weather pattern is far worse than the ice of winter, tho' I'll probably complain about that next year. This time of the year we are supposed have decent weather so we up here can use our boats. And, then today is supposed to rain free, thunder and lighting free, and I had a GI series at the hospital all morning.

It's crossing central Jersey right now, headed our way!
Hope your GI is clean...

If you go to IWINS on the National Weather Service site you can get the current conditions at any reporting site. I go the the Groton/New London airport site; they're right on the coast and around the corner from Teasel's home in Noank. I forget the link, but you can also go the offshore buoys and get realtime info on weather, sea state, etc. if I get down on Sat. I'll keep an eye out for you, Dave.
Still raining... Mystic friend is sick--we didn't go... Gonna go out and by the Admiral a car, instead... The word from Mystic is that there are Catalinas stacked 4-6 abreast at the Seaport dock, and big doin's in the clambake area. Hope they don't get too wet.
Dave Bristle, 1985 C-25 #5032 "Passage" SR/FK/Dinette/Honda in SW CT
Sunday was OK in the Groton area, sunny, hot, some haze and periodic low cloud, and a great breeze. I saw beaucoup Catalinas coming out of the Mystic river, so I guess they had a good time in spite of the weather. Hope next weekend is good.
I hear the Catalina folks were all packed in under some tents--probably some good discussions with Frank, et al... We plan to be there next weekend, probably on Fishers Island Sound Sat. Should we look for Teasel?
