Aside from adding a blaster pump (some day) is it possible to add an access port to the plastic water tank for making siphoning/cleaning/wiping of the interior possible? (rather than pumping the sinks or disconnecting any of the small hoses) Any suggestions? I just wonder if the integrity of the plastic tank would be compromised. That musty water is really getting to me.
Hi Suzie, my limited information is about Todd tanks... Todd offers an inspection / cleaning port hole that can be added to them... but that doesn't cure the line issues.
The blaster pump in my opinion will do more to keep the tank and lines free than any other single effort. My system also has forced fill so that I can overfill and thus purge the tanks which also helps I think. I have no problem with fresh water system and I also live in a hot climate.
One suggestion would be to install a little check sticker to remind and log the refreshing of the tank.
BTW, how'd the hole cutting for the shorepower go?
JB, My plan to install the inlet was rained out. Boy the west side of FL was hit with some wet weather this week and it is raining here again today!! Hoping to try again this weekend.
I didn't know Todd was the manufacturer of our water tank, thanks Arlyn. I'm gonna look into the inspection port further. As for the blaster pump......I want one, just not sure how to go about the whole install thing. For one my two batteries are still in the stern ( I'm a bit confused with regards to powering up unit). Then I looked at your blaster tech tips and felt that the whole idea is over my head (for now anyway...although when presented with a challenge I motivate)
I often wonder what the majority of folks who don't own a sailboat do with their lives and free time. Ha
