A copy of this post will be placed in the association business section of this forum and a similar post will be placed in A Tell tale.
Based on current threads on this website, a quorum of greater than three-fifths of the remaining sitting officers, per amendment posted in the May 2000 Telltale, has voted the current election to be invalid.
The voting was as follows: Vote to declare the current election invalid - For - 2 Against - none Abstain - 1
We have subsequently voted, to extend the deadline for the national association to October 31th, midnight. We will be accepting nominations for the 5 elected offices of this Association via any medium available, phone, this website, email or regular US mail. These nominations must be received by an officer by midnight, October 5th. They can be mailed to me at duanewolff@yahoo.com. Forum posts should be individual threads for each member nominated. The title should be Association Nomination.
Vote to extend the election deadline - For - 2 Against - none Abstain - 1
A general election, will then be held and will conclude by the extended time frame as stated above.
Clifton, I guess I should leave the Mainsheet copy as is. The election will still be over by the time the Nov. issue comes out. I have to get the copy uploaded to the Mainsheet tonight. Thank you John Gisondi Mainsheet Contributing Editor C25/C250 National Association
I agree John. Next time we will TRY to be more diligent in starting this process early enough to utilize the Mainsheet. The good news is that we have roughly 650 members right now but only about 110 that do not have an email address list (I have received about 50 updates from the last mailing.) so we can get the message out fairly quickly and easily. However this is something that should also be posted in the Mainsheet as well. Yet another goal for the coming year!

I assume by this that the nominees that had been listed are still "legal nominees" and will not need to be renominated. And, that the intent of this action by the current officers is to provide opportunity to non-forum participants to nominate candidates for the officers of the National Association.

1. Who is the 3rd officer Cliff, Duane and who???? The officers list says Mark Melchior is vice commodore we all got the word way before Ed left that Mark was no longer going to be active.
2. This association has been operating with 2 officers since the middle of June that can't be healthy for the group. We need to get this handled sooner than later.
I would have preferred not to go this route either, however it is much like Pandora's box... We could not ignore it and there is enough merit that we needed to consider the overall affect to the Association. Regardless, here we are.
Mark IS still the Vice Commodore. He has not been very active due to other demands on his time but he has not resigned. I discussed with him our situation when Ed was leaving and he has been signing checks as needed, as per the Association rules. So he is the "3rd" officer. Since Duane started this thread Mark has emailed adding his assent to the process. So all three officers (remaining) voted yes to this process.
