Just got back from the NY NJ sail show at liberty park. Had an opportunity to go onboard a C350, WOW!!! I want this boat (long range goal<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>
Short range, i was impresed with the main sail track system that Sail Care sells, it will greatly aid my singlehanding the boat next year. Along with this i plan on lazy jacks, I did see a system for flaking the main by "dutchman" but have 2nd thoughts on this.
Has anyone installed these Sail Care tracks on their mast? Any thoughts on the Dutchman system?
And by the way I found the show to be very good and would recommend it.
No info on Sail Care tracks, but some thoughts on lazy jacks:
I made my own. I screwed quarter inch eyes to the mast on each side about three feet above the spreaders. To these I attached 3/8 inch shock cord about 8 feet long, and to the other end of the shock cord 1/4 inch blocks. I run a 1/4 inch dacron line under the boom through an eye two feet aft of the goose neck, up over the blocks and back to just aft of the vang fitting. Total cost was about twenty bucks for everything. I replace the shock cord every other season since it gets tired. Other than that, they work fine.
