I operate the ship's store for our sailing club. I've learned that it's not what you sell, it's how often you change it up. Members (in our club at least) will buy up anything that's new or has a new look. One item that is dirt cheap that sells very well are can coozies. I buy them buy the gross at about $.60 and sell them for $2.00 each. I never have a problem selling them.
I would like to see some kind of cool looking Catalina 25 T shirt with some kind of artsy-fartsy action drawing of a C25 on it. Of course I don't have any artistic ability at all, so I can't contribute to this. I'm thinking of something like the Harken T shirts. I'm not dissing our current T shirts, I'm even considering the purchase of one. As a matter of fact, I think I'll order one now.
I don't know how much more you want to sell, but I think there are many other things that you could try. How about a license plate frame, Sunglasses strap, canvas boat bag... I don't want to ruffle any feathers, but I'm not to keen on the stuff that's currently in the store. I guess I'm just trying to say it could be updated. Maybe a nice t-shirt with the C25/C250 diamonds (small over the breast) on the front and then a design on the back...something more fun? Is that what I'm trying to say?

They are available. It is not advertised yet. We also have blue & red colors available for clothing.
I'm big on light weight long sleeved hooded shirts and the same thing in heavier fabric for the fall. And hats that cover the ears with or without logos. Also straw old man grany hats. Canvas boat shoes without laces.
I had an idea for some items to sell that I thought I would share. How about a set of plates (unbreakable) and coffee cups with the C25/250 logo? The mugs could say something like "Cabin Boy", and "Crew". I had a "Cabin Boy" cup on my boat until the coffee cup went down to Davey Jones' locker.<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>
When I put the idea of exchanging sailing videos out to the group, there was no response. I've memorized all my sailing videos throughout past winters and could use some new material. A list of recommended videos from the ships store would interest me. Todd Frye
Bumper stickers? Variety of caps, including some that can get sweaty and dirty without harm? DEFINITELY XXL for those of us whose arms are much longer than our height. ron Orion sw fl
If you get new hats, I am with Sparky, get something with a color and something a little lower profile. I found a site on the web that doesn't charge for embroidery if you buy a minimum...might be worth looking into. Shoot me an email for details.
For me clothing type things would be of most interest. T-shirts, polo shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, hat for sun protections, eye and ears all with Catalina 25 or Catalina 250 logos and with the possibility of having our boats name. To me logos should be small, like on the shirts from last years nationals, with nothing on the back.
What about the ability to have your boats name put on the t-shirt? One of the guys at our club in Syracuse, Indiana just had real nice golf shirts with a logo and the boats name printed on them.
I don't where you can find them, I've looked for years, but I'd love to have a model of my C25 for display in my office. I'd like to give plastic models of our boats to my children, neices and nephews for presents, sort help plant the seed.
