Due to unfortunate circumstances (see: freak wind building from 15-20mph to 40-45mph in a matter of minutes)and a chunk of stupidity (see: Reefing for Dummies though we were trying to make it to a sheltered cove to reef), I lost my main this weekend (see: torn to shreads, though the place I fixed just under the top batten held)so I was forced into getting that new main I've wanted for some time. After reading through the many threads on here about mains for the past year I came to the decision to get mine from Ullman Sails. I called Gary monday morning with the specs and options I was looking for in a main and he had exactly what I wanted in stock. He told me he could get it out to me the next day though I waited till wednesday to order, so I could have had it for this weekend. A fully battened, 2 reef points, added roach, loose footed, cunnigham, at 6.53oz with logo and numbers, main and a custom sunbrella cover were $924, the sail alone being $734. I should have it by next tuesday and on the boat friday so I'll let you know about the performance the next monday. I just wanted to say with the service and attention the Gary gave me throughout the ordering process I am already happy about my decision to go with Ullman Sails. When you call out there (Ventura CA) you always get Gary not some receptionist or flunkie so your information is firsthand to him and not lost in translation somewhere and he is very knowlegable about C25's. He took whatever anxieties I had about getting the right sail and easily laid them to rest. I just wanted to tell you this especially for those who are considering a new sail now because I know how intimidating it can be with all the different manufacturers and options available, Gary Swenson made it a breeze. I am looking foreward to doing business with him again and would recommend Ullman to anyone who asks.
I just installed an Ullmain furling 135 jib on my new furling system. Really nice sail. Looks like it could take a beating. I may buy one of the exact sails that you just got for a new main. Please keep us posted. My questions are: Do you have to modify the sail track in the mast, or boom? What kind of outhaul will you be using? How well does it work with lazy jacks.
You'll be more than satisfied with Ullman sails. I have both a furling 150 and a full battened main from Gary. Great prices and state of the art products. ENLOY Val on the hard DAGNABIT
another vote for gary!!! i bought both sails at seperate times from gary.
his pricing is the cheapest amongst name brand sailmakers and is almost in costs with the cheaper sails.
you always have someone to answer questions and knows our boats.
it's not like when you order from cruising direct, they want you to furnish the exact measurements, that way they have no responibiltiy.
bought from both companies and gary knows how much to push the limits as to roach sizes, luff lenghts etc.
with all the postings on this site i have never heard a bad thing about gary, not like the fake posts we received sometime ago from other northeast sailmakers.

I got the same sail last year from Gary and it's great. No modification of any sail tracks are necessary. It comes with SS slug that fits perfectly in the boom track attached to the outhaul. Should work well with lazy jacks, especially with the full battens. Performance is wonderful, but it's a little harder to flake.
