I was at our PHRF org meeting and was able to view some video of the AYC birthday regata in Feb 01. The video shows a C27 about to round a mark directly behind a C250. The jib blocks most of the C250, but you can watch her stern and rudder as she attempts to bare away around the mark. As the C27 approches the mark to follow her, around she goes 180 degrees heading the wrong way.
They where very fortunate there was no one on her hip as she tried to round. I can't imagine the helplessness as control goes out the window. Can I post this on this site? I have it in 10 seconds of mp2 video. Would help to visualize why the G2 or G3 rudders are prefered.

Hmmm, I guess cruising an unintentional roundup is one thing, but in a race with a mark on one side and a boat, possibly with the right of way on another, it would add a whole different dimension to the equasion.....<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>
