Frog and the General Announce the berth of Pretty Penny II on October 14, 2003 arriving at 9:20AM Weight: 4,500 pounds Length: 25 Feet Mon and Dad are on their way to the poor house, but doing fine <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>! <img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b3ce35b3127cce804c28b809cc0000001010" border=0>
Oscar, I would definitely like a copy of your list. Your A/C install looks great. I hope the General dosen't see it. Please EM the list to: mulvihilljs@netzero.net and many thanks.
I was kind of kidding. (As in "now the work starts for you"...) However if you're serious, here's some of it. I also recommend Arlyn's website, he's come up with a number of clever mods, and the tech section of this forum. Some of the things I did/plan on doing are specific to the water ballast, and don't apply to the wing keel. Also, some design improvements have been made since my 2002 model year. Finally, a lot depends on what you're going to do with the boat, racing vs/cruising...days or weeks, and with how many people. Our premise is cruising for a week or so, with two kids. So our focus is comfort, and space utilization.
The following have been done, are in progress or, marked *, are planned:
Graphics for name/homeport 6 gallon tank instead of standard 3 gallon. Tiller extender with lockbox. Flag Compass Cockpit cushions. Coaming winches for jib at helm. Cockpit cushions Additional (longer) dock lines Dodger Line organizers/stoppers for control lines aft. Canvas bags on deckhouse for line storage. Upgrade size of main halyard Topping lift (Use old halyard) Windvane Drifter Whisker pole with eyelets for jib and drifter Boathook Shorepower with cabin outlets. Battery Charger Airconditioning. Coat hooks on outside of head. Wire shelf in "wet" locker. (Nice storage for toiletries/pharmacy/toilet paper etc. etc.) Stereo 12 Volt meter/outlet Electric cooler (12/110. (Not really a fridge, it lowers the temp about 30 degrees. Together with icepacks and judicious use it does the job...Walmart $60.00) Cut V-berth storage access lid in half Curtains with matching throw pillows. Fitted Sheets. *Depth Sounder *Modify the table....(To be done next, stay tuned) *Bimini *Spreader flag lines *Mid Ship cleats on the rail for spring lines *Beaching rudder (Does not apply to you...your 71" rudder will do just fine...) *Aft berth portholes to cockpit *Footpump or pressure water at galley sink
Just read through Arlyn's blooper page and noticed a theme - "cursing wenches" <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>! Wonder where I might find those cursing wenches?
Note that my post was made on Friday morning around 8:00 a.m. edt, it is listed at the wrong time, and placed according to that time, which is before Arlyn posted his blooper thread. P.
In your corners....down boys, down <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
My question is, how did Don's reply end up between mine and Frog's? As you can tell he's replying to the blooper before I even mentioned it?
Update...this reply is out of sequence too <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle> now we're gonna get all %^$#% -up as to who said what to whom and when.....and, there will be stealth editing without accountability oh no....<img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>
Goblins in the forum......<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> v-berth lid came cut (which I ask them not to do since they cut across. Now trying to get it replaced to do it correctly), <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
If they won't replace the lid let me know I can tell you how I made my factory cut board hinge with the cushions.
Oscar, that is some list! It's great since it gives me a starting point. I have already down loaded some of Aryln's stuff that I intend to do. Some of the things on your list I have already done. This boat was purchased primarily for cursing, that's why I call it the General's RV on water. I will probable only race her a few times a year as opposed to Pretty Penny. The one race I will always do is the 38.5 mile river race known as "The Mug Race". This year was it's 50th and it was fun even though most DNF due to no wind. This year we had 179 boats of all sizes and shapes.
Here's my list so far: Graphics, compass (mines in the pedestal), cockpit cuhsions, use 25' dock lines, Sheet bags, topping lift (mine is continous and came with the Dutchman), windvane, drifter, whisper pole, boat hook, v-berth lid came cut (which I ask them not to do since they cut across. Now trying to get it replaced to do it correctly), curtains, depth sounder, speed log, two 12 gal water tanks, speader flags, mast head UHF antenna, and midship cleat(I use only one that slips on the jib sheet track and locks like the jib sheet lead. That way I can move it side to side depending on the dock and I don't have to drill any holes).
I still have a long way to go to get what The General wants, that is why I don't need her to see your AC. I cannot put it were you did anyway since that is were the holding tank for her marine head is located. Again thanks for the list it is very helpful.
Hope you don't bring the grandkids..<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> Arlyn...one for the Blooper Page?
