Hello all, The forum has finally been upgraded to latest and greatest. Please report any problems or good things. How about the colors? This was an issue for people using certain browsers. Can everybody see the text? I'm still having some problems with archiving. But I think that will be solved in a little while. Also, I will test the email function.
If you have anything to report, please remember to put "Catalina" in the subject of any email you send to me. I get about a million spams a day.
Are you sure you picked up the latest upgrade? This veriosn is 3.3.05 and the current version in use on the Snitz site is 3.4.03.
The colors are not fixed in this version and I'm surprized not to see the feature of the arrow to immediately jump to the last post in a thread.
Also, the smiley's are not changed in this version to the new format that allows them to be set without the pop up window.
The color problem is confirmed to be corrected in the 3.4.03 version and they even comment in the docs about a change from word color designation to html number designations.
I coppied the code from the version we had been running and simply plugged numbers in where words had been used and doing so confirmed that using hex color definitions rather than word definitions cures the color problems.
However, that forum comes up great as the only parsing issue that I think exist is the "navyblue" which that forum doesn't use.
Also, the other forums indlude a last post arrow which allows go directly to last post in a thread without the necessity of having to scroll thru previous post to reach. That may be a switch you can turn on?
I'm not saying that there is a need to give up navyblue... but to keep it, it needs to be identified by html hex rather than word. This will become an increasing problem because Mac computers are gaining in poularity as well as the Mozilla and Firebird browsers. Microsoft has used this parsing issue to gig mac and other browsers... but its time to correct this. Mac and Mozilla/Firebird are standard compliant... the issue is Microsoft development tools.
Mystified by Snitz comments that they had adjusted their code ..... to evidently mean on their forum rather than version release... thats crazy.
If your html editor will do a search and replace...then have it search out navyblue and replace with 9FAFDF . That should fix the problem... the rest of the colors I think work ok and leaving them with word designations is not a problem (I hope).

I use Mac OS X 10.2.8 and bounce between Safari (mozilla based I think) and Exploder 5.2. I saw the dark blue problem the other night right after the first effort to upgrade but have never run into it any other time. This box is a nice sky/pastel blue with royal blue field lables. I wish there were tool tips for the new buttons. I pause the cursor over a button and get nothing. As a High School teacher I have to assume HR means home room. OK found it in the forum code help<hr noshade size="1">
Yep, the dark blue thing has been there all along for me Safari requires 10.2 or later. I'm running a Wallstreet with a USB pc card and a veritable plethora of USB IO devices. At the moment I have a working equilibrium (read, no X-tension conflicts) I'm afraid to install X and see the whole thing implode. I'm planning on upgrading to a somewhat newer machine...(I missed your I-book ) Then I'll start with X, safari etc etc.
Oh My! This upgrade provides posting statistics. When you click on someone's screen namne and go to their profile is shows their average posts per day. I need to get a life.

Hey...when you reply the posts reverse direction, after the first one.....that saves lots of scrolling.....

I estimate you will be a master marine consultant on March 13 2004......congratulations in advance.
You know, this forum doesn't have to use the default color scheme. I could change the scheme and include the red of Catalina. Or does everybody like the blue scheme? Spike
