Some of us are in the ring with Catalina re.the WB rudder. If no satisfactory solution results, I plan on making my own. Somewhere it was said that currently any of at least three different rudders made for the boat by Catalina are "legal". What are the mechanics of adjusting the rule to meet the reality of the situation? It seems that a slightly modified version of the 2nd gen is a very functional rudder, both for cruising and racing. What would it take for the following to be added to the rule, so as for it to read:
"Any rudder manufactured by Catalina, or any rudder of similar dimensions"
Oscar,no pic, in Atlanta making BU's
Lady Kay IV, Dragonfly 25 # 54 Former C30#618-C250WB#618-C42#76
I would think that is an officer thing. Make a recommendation to the new officers, and theydraft, rewrite, etc. for presentation to the membership. At this point does the 250 have an established set of racing rules. Seems to em they were considering their rules in a previous discussion.
