I just bought it and was curious if holes have to be drilled into the boom or mast. i don't have the package yet, i ordered it online and that's why i'm asking.

Drill, 6 holes boom, options after that

I bought it the first week I had my boat, I had sailed it once maybe twice. When I got it I realized the stock reef was very good for the clew and terrible for the tack. When I understood what was already on the boat I sent it back. I am making my own single line with a cheek block, a reef hook and shackle bullet block. I am running my reef, Outhaul, and topping lift back and using cheek blocks there too. I am putting a halyard /wing plate under my mast step. I have my two halyards led back on the starboard side with a #7 and an old double spinlock clutch. I am moving my jib halyard to port and putting the single line reef there with the main halyard. The outhaul and topping lift will join the jib halyard on the port side. Garhauer is a week late shipping my parts, they said they did not know why it had not shipped. Frustrating! You pretty much need their halyard plate to turn lines from.
