The evil empire gave me the runaround, calling Whale to see where the missing parts were, not calling me back etc. etc. So I got mad and told them I bought it from them, not Whale, so send me another (complete) one. They did, overnight, no charge.

In the end it was simpler than I thought. The pump just plugs into the line.

Put the bottom back in.....

The pump comes with a knee/foot switch. I mounted it a knee height. It can be operated with the knee while standing with pop top up, or while sitting on the bottom step. (As being demonstrated in the picture....that's my knee at the bottom)
It can also be pushed by little sailors with their chest.....

Again, I was able to leave the original hand pump. In fact it is needed as the booster pump is not self priming. The hand pump takes care of that.
The only disadvantage I can think of is that the thing is either on or off. (Read full bore or nothing, still I think it will be effective,)
Total cost: $47.99....

Looks great! Your Whaler hand pump is different than mine, so it will be interesting to see if mine works as well. I assume that you tried the manual pump, after installing the electrical pump, and that it worked just fine. Also, the switch is under your knee and is not the large grey object, right?

The manual pump still works great. The switch is the brown "box", about 2"x2"x2.5" The large grey circular object is a towel hanger. My knee is pushing against the bottom of the switch. It has to be somewhat substantial to be used as a foot switch.

"The only disadvantage I can think of is that the thing is either on or off"."

Oscar, are you saying either the water is on (coming out of facet full blast) or off(none coming out of facet at all)?

I'm really liking your set up, seems a feasible project for me. Did you install to the diagram specs you posted previously (in your diagram...with check valve, don't see it in photos.)
I'm thinking that may be the way to go for me as well, sure would be nice to move some of that stale water out!! How did you handle the power, can you use it away from shore power? Thanks. Looks good!!

Indeed, full flow or nothing.(About 2 gallons per minute)

No check valve. Just the pump in the line.

Power is 12 Volt, available at the ignition for the cooking burner in the top of the cabinet.

Oscar, I expect if the flow was too much or if you wanted to have a variable amount of water volume... that wouldn't be hard to do with a reostat in your little control box... or if two levels were wanted, a double throw switch and some heavy duty resistors.

I think it will be just fine. Just enough for filling a tea kettle, not too much for a quick hand rinse. If you want a thimble full you can still use the hand pump.

Oscar, Thankyou thankyou thankyou for the idea of the in-line pump and install info. I put mine in and LOVE it. Best mod I've made in some time that REALLY makes me smile Only thing I did different is I left the wires longer so I can pull out the switch and either step or kneel on it, then tuck it away.http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b3cf37b3127cce82783bd3d5750000001510http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b3cf37b3127cce82783540d5e10000001510
