I thought you'd want to see our new crewmember. Little Tommy arrived November 5th, a couple weeks early, but is very healthy. Mom made it through 14 hours of labor very well, and is resting comfortably.
I've been away from the forum since letting Weeny Bean go. I hope you're all doing well, and still sailing often. I've been crewing for friends when I have time. Our move to California is finally official, so we're hoping to find a boat out there in the next year. I'll keep you posted.
Tommy is a beautiful child. Take ten seconds each day to step out of the current business and reflect on how precious the little ones are and how much they mean to you.
This morning at 6:15 our 2 1/2 year old decided to bounce out of bed, so we dressed warm and went to the garage to put another coat of teak oil on the crib boards, hand rails etc.. She sat in an old overstuffed chair with a magnet and some nails and we danced to the oldies station while Mommy got another hour of sleep with the youngest. A most appropriate song came on that summed up the feeling and gave me goose bumps. Carly Simon, "These are the good old days" . Never forget it!!

Congratulations on such a fine, healthy, son. "These are the good old days" was one of my favorites from Carly and very appropriate for what you are about to experience. My son, Daniel, is a freshman in college and my daughter, Michelle, finishing high school this year. Enjoy every second they are around. Those seconds pass by too incredibly quickly. Talk to him, play classical and jazz music, have him play an instrument, READ to him ALL THE TIME, and let him read to you, take them everywhere you go, even to good restaurants. Reading, talking, music makes them smarter. BTW, if you come out to San Diego, my boat is now in a slip and Jim Baumgarts has been in one for awhile so you can sail until you find your own. Sleep? You lost sleep lately? "It's your turn to feed him" will be your nightly wake up call. Enjoy even these times. I sure do....
Congrats Tray......kids are cool. And they look great on a boat
