Anyone have a design idea for curtains?I've got material and the guides or tracks for the curtains.Just not sure where to get the guides to put on the curtains themselves so they slide into the tracks. And a pattern for the curtains would be great. Thanks for all y'alls help.
Scott – I’m afraid I don’t know where to get the guides for the tracks but as far as a pattern goes the curtains are flat panels that taper just like the distance between the tracks. Allow about 1/2" above and below the tracks (plus seam allowance). I have hull #4762 so I assume our boats are similar. There should be three sections in the main cabin, port and starboard and two each in the head and sink area. Just make a paper pattern and cut it in to three equal sections for main cabin. My Mom made new ones for Peregrine last year, I will ask if she tossed the old curtains yet. She is in Oregon & I’m in NY so this will take a day or two. And NO she cannot make new curtains for you, her winter project is cockpit cushions for Peregrine. Meanwhile you might call Catalina and see if they have a source for the guides.
Scott - try Small Craft Advisories (SCA) at 800-354-7245 or 714-650-5079. They call the little doodads "taco shells". On my '81 C25 there are 208 of them on the curtains...and they all have to be sewn individually! Derek on "This Side Up"
Scott and all, If you have an RV parts store in your area try them. I found some new slides for my curtains there. Take in your track because they may have several different sizes to choose from.
I purchased new curtains from Odessey Sailmakers in California complete with fasteners. Got their phone number from Catalina. I can't seem to find it or their address at the present time. Will post it if I come accross it. Otherwise call Cataina @ 818-884-7700 ask for parts dept.
