The BoatUS discount code should have been in your welcome letter that you received when you joined the Association. I have it at home, somewhere, so I'll email it to you when I can get my hands on it. In the meantime you can call BoatUS and see if they can "work" with you on the discount...
Clif, I sent my membership dues in about 3-4 weeks ago...just wondering when I should be expecting a packet and see my boat in the owners directory on the website? I am a new member if that makes a difference. Thanks.
As you will soon find out there are several paths or layers to the Association.
Your membership is processed through Nanosec. They will get your check and send you a welcome packet. Obviously from this thread we need to update that letter.
The Owners Directory that is on the website is an open list where any owner can post his or her information. You fill out the form and our webmaster Spike will add you to the list. You do not have to be a member to list your boat there and the only way to have it listed is to do it yourself. We do not post a list of members anywhere nor will we give out a list of our members. You would be amazed at how many requests we get for that!
As far as when to expect your welcome letter, I would say anyday now. We just got out the Mainsheet magazine and I am sure that Nanosec was busy with that process, so if you don't get anything in the next week or two let me know and I will follow up on it.
I'm a member and dont't know about any discount code with Boat US. I like the idea of promiting this info. So what's the code? Or is it a secret handshake? I lost my decoder ring.
If you call them on the renewal and tell them you belong to the Catalina 25/250 National Association , they will automatically apply the discount. Just did this about a month ago.
The discount applies to Boat US membership only...not gear, parts, etc. It takes $4.50 off the membership price. Not much, but that is enough to pay for my outboard gas for an entire race season.
