One of the advantages or disadvantages of having a home without internet is that I always have a lot of catching up to do when I get to the house with internet.

So this afternoon, before going to the internetless house, I read the thread on "New Sails for a Cat 25". I realize this is opening a can of worms, not unlike swing wing debates, but what if the Association were to negotiate a contract with sail vendors, would there be interest on the part of the membership to participate in this? If you are interested, what is the nature of your interest? Cruising? Racing? All purpose sails? Loose footed or rope slug? Reef points? Weight? Full batten or not?

If there is interest, I mention it Sunday at the officers meeting, and see where we go from there.

Actually on the agenda already, we started that about three months ago so hopefully details will emerge soon.

Basicly we are asking a few vendors to offer a "base sail" price with upgrade options. The varied desires and needs of this large a group made this the only reasonable way to proceed.

More later... same bat channel; same bat time.

Gosh, Robin, maybe we could ask about fleet prices for spinnakers, even asymmetricals.....Some folks may want one for Nationals this summer....; ) ...Back to the Bat-boat.....pow, zing, thwack....
