Thought you might like to see a pic of the "original" Annapolis - the Royal Naval College at Dartmouth, England, where the Royal Navy trains its officers. The river is the Dart - the only one never successfully invaded.

Oscar - Dartmouth was the birthplace of Drake, Frobisher & Hawkins. The Dart wouldn't DARE flood!

I've been watching the history of the Royal Navy on TV. You have a great tradition there.

Yes, Oscar, I am in Texas (and heartily happy for it!). I just returned from visiting my sons in this area of England.
And, BTW - at the time of the Civil War (why do they call it that when it was definitely NOT civil???) Texas had a navy...successfully defended the Texas coast against the Union blockades (and made a lot of folks rich running cotton!)
