Any of you Texans (or others in the area) ever sail on Lake Meridith north of Amarillo?
It appears to be a large lake. It is a National Recreation Area and seems to be used mostly for fishing and power boats. As our lakes are dwindling, I was curious if anyone had ever tried it. It is only about 6 hour drive so it could be a long weekend desitination.
...never mind. According to the National Parks website, all the boat ramps are closed due to record low water levels. Guess they are suffering the same fate as we are.
Maybe when their water starts rising, ours will too.
May not be any water...but Amarillo has a reputation for wind... lots of it and all the time. When the lake bed dries up adequately... maybe one of those wheeled sailing machines.... I can see a thriving business ahead, saddle equiped and free pair of spurs to the first twenty customers... yee'haa
