I've been surprised that this is my fifth winter with Charm, which is my first boat. Charm came with a spinnaker, pole and halyard, but lacking pole topping lift and downhaul. I actually used the spinnaker once in my first summer while sailing on a Sea Sc

I have an asymetrical cruising spinnaker which I find very useful and easy to fly in light air.

The first year I used the jib halyard to hoist it, but I worried about side loads and chafe on the block. The big nightmare was what if the spinnaker lif

My boat came with cruising chute/gennaker that is really nice to use in the light airs when the heavy 150% genny just won't draw.
As mentioned, run a dedicated halyard for the spinn., otherwise you are forced to tack the chute inside the forestay if you
