Looks like most everyone uses a cup of bleach added to a full tank to kill the nasty criters. Let it set overnight and pump it all back out. You will then need to open the access port on your water tank and wipe or mop out the debris left behind. Flush th
We cut 6" access hole in the top of the water tank and installed a deck plate (proper name escapes me right now.) We did the same thing in the wood panel that goes over the top of the tank. Steve Madsen

You can also install an in-line carbon filter close to the sink. They are available at West marine as well as other outlets, and filter particulates and taste-affecting items such as chlorine.
