confession time,
i could not figure out how to delete a duplicate post -

how far can i reasonably expect to sail/motor in 1 day?
considering at C25 in VA that is 240 miles from home.
is this 2 weekends or 1 week? i've only ever daysailed,

Under power, think in terms of 5 mph, which would be 48 hours. That's 5 10-hour days, which are long days for us old-timers. Also keep in mind that going in and out of harbors or anchorages adds some mileage and time. Currents can also affect your time

We limit our cruises to about 35 miles per day. If we push it past that point, it starts to be work instead of fun.

Jeff's number of 35 miles is a good for a comfortable day....in fair conditions 50 is a fairly long day. I've done 90 mile stretches a couple of times with Otto doing much of the helming.
