I'm headed to Playa del Carmen on Feb. 1 and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience renting sailboats there. I've searched the web as much as I can and can't seem to find anything. I'm looking for Hobies on up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Charlie, we own a time share in Playa and have been there about 15 times...we love it. The last time we were there, Spring Break 2003, we rented a 16' Hobie Cat near an all inclusive place walking distance about 1 mile North from the ferry pier. there are several vendors renting them on the beach but be sure to check out the rigging, I kept walking until I found one that looked liked it was not held together with duck tape or bailing wire. It is a great place for a Hobie, I had so much fun I came straight home and bought a 86' Hobie 16 and love sailing it. 8 years ago there were no such rentals on the beach but know they have all the toys, Steve Steakley
