I'm headed to Playa del Carmen on Feb. 1 and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience renting sailboats there. I've searched the web as much as I can and can't seem to find anything. I'm looking for Hobies on up.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Did you find this site? It appears that there is some kind of sailing available... http://www.locogringo.com/destinations/pdc.html

While in the neighborhood, you might check out the marina area if you cross over to Isla Mujeres north of Cancun.

BTW, there is a new flight from Houston to the oil field suppor town of Ciudad del Carmen. This is not the same place as Playa del Carmen.

Charlie

Playa is a great place, but as js said, DON'T MISS Isla Mujeres north of Cancun.

There is a GREAT underwater national park at the SE end of the island with wonderful snorkeling.

Have a great trip.

Charlie, we own a time share in Playa and have been there about 15 times...we love it. The last time we were there, Spring Break 2003, we rented a 16' Hobie Cat near an all inclusive place walking distance about 1 mile North from the ferry pier. there are several vendors renting them on the beach but be sure to check out the rigging, I kept walking until I found one that looked liked it was not held together with duck tape or bailing wire. It is a great place for a Hobie, I had so much fun I came straight home and bought a 86' Hobie 16 and love sailing it. 8 years ago there were no such rentals on the beach but know they have all the toys,
