It works for me! But what do I know? I don't have a trailer.
The line coming off the winch on the trailer must be connected to a bow eye on the boat. Apparently that eye lines up in the middle of the two black stoppers.
Dan, Looks good from here as long as boat is pulled up snug into black bow v blocks. Attach rope from winch is exactly where it hooks up on my boat. You should have something over the top of the boat to tie it to the trailer. I use a cargo strap with a winch...Good Luck "Bear" on the hard in upstate N.Y.
Your trailer apparently doesn't have a safety chain. When the winch gets older and rusty, it can pop loose and allow the cable to run free. Also, an old cable might look OK, when it's really very rusty and weak. My trailer has a safety chain that is bolted to the upright trailer member, and it runs through a hole that is shaped so that you can adjust the length of the chain. A hook on the end of the chain is also connected to the boat's bow eye. I once saw a C-25 without a safety chain that came off the trailer while on the road. A simple, sure safety device can save you a lot of grief.
Incidentally, my bow eye is backed up by a small piece of teak, inside the forepeak. It's a good idea to check it every few years to be sure it isn't deteriorating. I had to replace mine.
