We have another terrific feature article in the Mainsheet. This may one of the best. It is written by John Vining and it’s titled “My Father’s Eyes”. John writes about sailing in Lake Michigan with his nine year old daughter. Not only is this a wonderful story about sailing it’s about family and how sailing brings us all closer together. You’ll find the article on page 9 of the Feb. 2004 Mainsheet.
If you have had a great adventure on your C25 or C250 contact me and let’s get your story in print.
I want to thank John for sharing his story with us and the entire Catalina community. It’s articles like this that show off our boats and the fine adventures our members are having in them. I also want to thank all the Fleet Captains who contribute to the Fleet News in the magazine. Our fleets are growing and becoming more active every day.
I think articles like this also show how membership in the association can be a great value. For just $20 we host one of the best single boat forums, we have a great web site and you get a subscription to the Mainsheet magazine and can read articles like John’s and a lot of other good info including a tech section that you can pull out and keep.
The statistics at the bottom of the forum home page say we have had over a thousand users registered and posting on the forum. We only have about 550-600 paid association members. If you are getting value from this forum and would like a subscription to a glossy magazine that showcases Catalina owners and their boats please become a member.
Thank you

I would like to add that our Association mainsheet editor did a great job too. And Arlyn for his great 250 tech article. We need some 25 tech articles. I guesse I should write one or two, Maybe when I get back from the Keys.

Read John V's delightful account of his cruise with his daughter, Grace. What wonderful images of father and daughter really spending quality time together, and in the process teaching the sport we love. Goog job, both Johns!

Thanks to John G. for asking. I enjoy sharing Grace's and my adventures here on the forum and it was John who contacted me suggesting I write about them for Mainsheet. It would never have occured to me otherwise.

Here's to spring projects.....of which I have many.
