Ladies & Gentlemen,
Hill Country Yacht Club on Canyon Lake (central Texas) is giving serious consideration to offer to host this year's Nationals. However, to make it economically feasable for our Club, we would need at least 12 entri

Hi Derek.
Late June? How late? I teach high school in Hemet, CA so the ending date is around June 13 or 14 I believe. So I'd need some time to get my brain relaxed and on the road....probably talking around 3 days of drive time at the least. About 12

Derek: I second Gary's remarks. My daughter is great crew for me, but I think her high school gets out around the 20th of June, provided no more snow closure days. I would prefer the latest in June possible, in the chance I can do it. I need 4 days or

Thanks Gary & Gary! We may have to move the event into July - I have just discovered that the Club's annual jaunt to the BVI will be the last 2 weeks in June this year (normally it is the first 2 weeks) and unfortunately, all the people I need to help run

Derek: Ahhhhhh!!!! I just did a few preliminaries....and found out that you are about 2,400 miles away. As much as I'd like to do it, I don't think I can come that far for 2 days of racing.....dang! It would be fun, but once in a while I must exercise

Gary - I understand perfectly! I don't think I would trailer 2,400 miles either. However, I am disappointed that you can't make it.

Gary in Portland: That is a bunch of miles. I almost said as much when you first replied but didn't want to discourage you in any way. From Hemet, CA it is "around" 1250 miles (I think), still quite a distance but half yours. Some day I will be hauling

I am sitting here 100 miles southeast of San Francisco. I took me three hard days of driving to get from here to Austin back in the mid-70's. My little sports car pulling an 8 foot U-Haul traveled at night to avoid the late June heat across the deserts o

i would be interested in coming.
what is your current population of catalina 25's on the lake?
it would be great if we could get some of the local boats that don't race much to commit to sailing with several other catalina owner who would fly in.i did

Dave - thanks for your post. At present I have one C25 and two 250's on Canyon Lake who will race, plus another 25 who needs both a skipper & crew - he says his boat is available for anyone who wants to just fly-in. In addition Mark would bring his 250 fr

Glad to see the interest so far. We definitely want everyone to post their preferences for any site.

As far as the Midwest, I made some calls to local groups. Turns out the race marks in the Lake Michigan waters off Chicago get booked a year in advance
