I'm somewhat embarrassed that I currently have the top spot (although I believe Dave B is the actual post leader) and if Spike could easily reset my post tally to zero, I would welcome it.(Spike, did you get that?)
The reason I have so many posts is because of the pull sailing has on me. When I'm not actually sailing, I'm planning on sailing, talking about sailing, thinking about sailing, reading about sailing, typing about sailing....well you get the idea. Last night I took the kids to their gymnastics class and as I sat there with the other parents, I had both my latest CW and a Sailwarehouse catalog.
I am, by far, not the most knowledgeable sailor, still a student, but I like to contribute when I can. Since I've been on this forum my sailing knowledge has increased immensely through posts of not only the resident experts like Bill, Steve, Derek, Leon, Arlyn, and other frequent posters, but I've also learned from the person or "Newbie" who just signed on. (To those Newbies and prospective Newbies who may think that they don't have anything meaningful to contribute, I encourage you to jump in because although you may think you don't have anything to say, your participation is essential.)
The key to this forum being a success, like the National Regatta, is "participation" and I like to think that my participation contributes a little to that success (although that point is definitely debatable! )

Why do I keep thinking about Groucho Marx: "I would never want to belong to any organization that would have someone like me for a member."?<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
Yes, Brooke, my posting can be a bit excessive, especially during the winter months on the hard.
As for the Groucho quote, I use a version of this when joking with my wife that goes something like, "I have no respect for a woman who would have a person like me for a husband!"
