hi all, we are looking into a system to link the outboard to the rudder for steering. we have contacted arlyn and he was very helpful. we also heard from frank who has the EZ steer system. according to the ez steer people, when the motor is in the down position, we need 19 inches center to center, which we do not have. it seems like we have about 15 inches. we would have to angle the bar upwards. ez steer says that this will work, does anyone who has this system have any input on this. thanks
I just ordered the ez steer after speaking with them and then measuring. I think that mine was about 16 or 17 center to center. The lady I spoke with told me to order the #70001 unit and call her back, she would give me instructions to alter it. I ordered mine from Cabelas, 1-800-237-8888 ext 121. I have 250WB #370 with a beaching rudder, modified for wheel steering, and soon to be remodified for beaching again.
jay, that's the same information that they gave us. so i think that we will give it a try. we have ordered from cabella's before. nice people...thanks again
