What's the easy (and correct) method of determing whether a Catalina 25 is a standard rig or a tall rig? Any tips for eyeballing the rig while standing on the dock?
Run a tape measure up the mast - the Standard Rig mast is 28' long, Tall Rig is 30' long. Also, the boom is mounted 1 foot lower on the Tall Rig (a head banger if you're not careful!)

Additionally, the mast slot of the tall rig is 1/2" deep and the standard rig has a slot 3/4" deep.
The tall rig boom will "upside yo' head" when standing while tacking, while the standard rig will pass over a 5'10" skipper. (The boom rides 1' higher.) Either way, watch the mainsheet!
