Check out the winter marina rates and amenities at this resort.

You can, for 50 cents a foot (61 day minimum), stay at this marina and have access to all the facilities. Read the list. It's pretty extensive.

I could not find any restrictions on boat size.

What a great place to use as a "base Camp" for Abacos sailing.

I have been there. It was 15 yrs ago but it was very nice. It is an ideal Base camp as all of the local sailing is well protected. It is a nice alternative to marsh harbour.

The 50 cents per foot does not include shorepower ($9.00/day) or water ($8.00 per day). If you add these services, the $12.50 per day for a 25 foot boat more than doubles, to $29.50 per day. This is pretty expensive even by San Francisco Bay Area standards, where the average marina is $20.00/day for transients, or $5.5 per day on a monthly lease (25' boat), including water and sonetimes including shorepower.

Transient dockage in southern New England runs $1.50 - 2.50/ft/day and even more in places like Newport, Nantucket, etc. Places like Block Island also charge a landing fee (at least they use them to provide decent heads & showers for cruisers).

While awaiting Gulf Stream crossing weather in Old Bahama Bay, Grand Bahama, I paid $70/day to tie up against a concrete seawall. That didn't include water or elec. Water was $10/day, and I think shore power was an additional $30/day. So $30/day for everything sounds pretty good to me. Remember when paying fees to cruise in the Bahamas, you are renting a genuine tropical paradise.

Chesapeake Bay: $1.25 to $2.00 per foot per night, Power $5-$7 extra...highest ever: St. Michaels marina on a weekend. $3 per foot, $5 for electric....30 foot minimum....do the math...

Thanks Leon.

This marina is geared for big powerboaters with big wallets.

When I had ESSAYONS I only used shore power when running a BIG thing, like a shop vac or large fan.

I kept my batteries topped off with a solar pannel.

As for water, they give you full access to the laundry and bath/showers.

I don't think one would have to buy water for an entire 61 days. Maybe just enough to keep your tank full.

BUT, I am hypothisizing. I guess I'll just have to go and check it out to really know.

29.50 per day is extremely reasonable. Put in bay is $1.50 a foot, with electric on a first come basis. I seem to remember prices around 75cents a foot at Green Turtle in the Abacos, water and electric on a usage basis. The only problem for me would be getting there
