The 7th Fleet here in Mission Bay, San Diego, CA will soon have 4 C25s parked in slips all in a row, side by side (currently there are 3 but I think the 4th arrived this week). This has got to be a record. Is there another dock in the country that has more C25s in a row than 4? Or more C250s? We will provide a photo soon (Hey, Jim! Bring your camera Saturday) to prove this. If you have more, prove it with a photo. We're going to try to get more C25s or C250s lined up as time goes on. Our dockmaster has been really nice about getting spaces freed up to get more Catalinas on our dock. Show us your photo and claim your bragging rights

Gary, we have seven c25/250's on our docks at the Mayfield Yacht Club, and I think four of them were in a row last summer. BTW, the seven c25/250's provide the core of the The Great Sacandaga Lake Catalina 25/250 Fleet. One of the fleets in planning stages.
I'll accept your challenge as soon as the water softens and the docks go in and the boats occupy their summer homes!

This coming season on my portside sharing a finger dock will be another C25 (Alibi) and if Phil (Second Chance) gets his trunk fixed, he will be one slip over to starboard. Additionally, another C25 (Windfall) is directly astern from me.
As for C250's...As long as I've been sailing I've never seen one in the marina or on the water.
Bring your camera and come up to Portland in July. We hope to have between 20 and 30 "in a row", or at least, in the same little area for the Nationals. Berths for a week count? We'd love to have you come up and join us! Bring your friends.
BTW: I sure do like your boat's NAME! clever...

(We now have 15 boats in our local fleet, but we are in several different marinas at present.)
Jim, Gary, We will be over this weekend. Marina Village didn't have room for us so I will probably end up in Camplands dry storage area. We may swing by Sat. morning just to see if anything opened up or is on the horizon. Campland is the default plan but it puts a kink in my plans to service the rollers on the trailer and finish the paint job while the boat was in a slip.
Doug, please come by. I will be there all weekend. Weather in the high 70's good wind, plenty of sun. Who wouldn't be there! I've sent you a private email with my cell phone number.
Meanwhile, make sure to get on Marina Village waiting list. Plus Driscols next door doesn't have a waiting list and they can usually get you in (also cheaper than Marina Village). Sea World Marina and Dana Inn Marina are also possible.
One hub on those totally new components insisted on running way hot. I won't tell you how many times I took it apart but I think I could do it in my sleep now.
Don't think I have a bearing problem, maybe it's brakes, neither assembly on the problem wheel feels as 'clean' as the others in adjustments.
We're gonna try again next weekend. Maybe we will see you then.
I spent yesterday getting Yahoo back into the water after a month of projects. After getting everything back together we took a little ride around the marina. I knew there were a few C25's on the lake and in the marina but had never counted. The leaward side of the marina is most popular for sail boats because you hoist sails, drift back and sheet in. There are 15 slips and in these 15 are 13 sail boats 10 of which are C25's. Not all perfectly lined up, but not a bad looking group. Mark W. is one of these C25's. On my dock there are three C25's and one C250. Next time to the lake I will do a count of the other docks. Now I realize the 7th Fleet in San Diego is wondering why I don't start a fleet here. Well the is a new fleet just formed, however the idea was to include all sailors so the Don Pedro Sailing Club is just one year old. There isn't enough energy to now start another club. I will say that the comradary (sp?) of the club has made a large group of strangers come together nicely. The marina management has been wonderful and even West Marine has supported us with raffle prizes. I will take a photo next time.
I joined Ed sailing on his boat a couple of years ago and I will attest to the fact that there are a lot of C 25's and 250's there and I tell you, there isn't a better group of people anywhere else. The ones we met ,becides Ed, well Ed too, treated us very well. The lake is beautivul too.
Someday I'd like to haul our boat to your lake and sail there, too. For now, San Diego is closer and a whole lot of fun. Jim and I saw another C25 late last evening as we sailed back in after "sailing into the sunset". The guy was sailing out the channel for an evening sail and we should have chased him down to talk about joining our group. Next time.... I'm sure we'll not have the most number of C25s or C250s on a dock but it would be cool to see pictures of lots of C25s lined up in the pictures page somehow. Anyway, my original thought was to get those pictures taken and on the website for all to see. Happy sailing, all.
Ed as I read your post, I was thinking the same thing. "Why not a fleet?" And, then you tell me that you have organized a club for all the sailors of the lake. To receive a fleet charter, all you need to do is have three members who are members of the National Association. The other members of the San Pedro Lake who own 25's or 250's would be affiliate members, by the fact that they are members of San Pedro Lake Sailing Club. In my mind you have already done the hard part. If interested, please let me know and I will send the fleet development manual to you.
