At 0728 hours this morning I heard five horn blasts just up the bayou where a barge had been delivering cargo. I decided to investigate. The five blasts had come from a tug captain that had lost control of his load. The barges where blown broadside into a "T' pier behind a local dining establishment. Luckily nobody was injured. But the "T" part of the pier was destroyed and a naked man living on a house boat at the pier got the jolt of his life. The moral of this story is stay away from barges. If you can't do that, at least wear some shorts.
