As recent members of the C 25/250 National Association and since August 2003 owners of an absolute wonderful 1995 top condition C250 swing keel water ballast, hull 151, we have visited the forum frequently during the last few months and have since learned a lot from the various conversations and topics of this forum. Thank you!! Quite a few questions have been answered and we’re sure many more will be answered as time goes on and as we become more familiar with the sailing life and ownership of a C 250 WB. So far I am extremely happy with the versatility of trailering and quality of the boat. Although we have pleasure sailed and owned small sail boats including a 14ft hobicat catamaran most of out lives this starts a new chapter for us and a bit of a learning curve. In order to feel more confident in boat handling and rules of the road we are taking a navigation course offered by the Canadian Power Squadron in Langley, BC Canada.

The question that I would like to ask is whether there is anyone else who owns a C25/250 in the Vancouver, BC area

The second question is regarding the forward area just aft of the bow well above the water line. I noticed that an area of about 1.5 ft square ft. or so when applying pressure by hand will deflect perhaps as much as .5 inch or more and seems rather thinly fiberglassed. In fact it seems to deflect until it is stopped by what I guess is the anchor compartment. Is this normal and if so what has been the experience when under load by head on waves.

By the way as a first generation 1964 Dutch immigrant to Canada, (ik spreek inclusief zakelijk nog bijna dagelijks nederlands), (I still speak Dutch almost daily including in my occupation), it great to see that the association is truly international and includes old country members as well. How about a boat, house and country exchange during a spring/summer/fall holiday. Would anyone be interested?

I wish I had a water venue worthy of your offer.

Now come on, I was sort of in the ballpark.
