I have a flag pole on the back of boat combined with the stern light mounted to the rail. Unfortunately people tend to grab the flag pole when getting in and out of the boat on the ladder. Basically the light has now ceased to work (presumably a broken wire). Has anyone else had any experience of this happening before? I was wondering if a separate flag/nav light was a better idea.

I think a better idea would be to wire up a stun gun to the flagpole.
