I am considering using Vertglas' Gel Coat Restoration System on my topsides (cabin top, etc.)that are badly chalked. I would be interested in anyone's experience with this product.
Practical Sailor liked it, I use it, buy it. It is only recommended for the topsides. The deck is another issue because of the nonskid. I bought Island girl Pink for the deck, I will use it SOON!!!!!!
I used vertglass on a power boat I had (in my past life) The trick is to put multiple thin coats on, and use their applicator. Surface must be free of wax also.
I did not really care for it, because during one winter under a cover the surface developed a crusty appearance as if some parts the vertglass wore off. I attributed this to moisture under the tarp being trapped.
My taste now is to go with a good compound and wax job. I use a three step process. 1) Fiberglass cleaner, 2) compound (white), & 3) 2 coats of I think it is called dolonite wax (not sure of that)
