My '81 c25 had a barrier coat applied about 12 yrs ago, ( according to the PO ). My concern is blistering. How effective are these barrier coats in blister protection? How important is bottom painting when a barrier coat has been applied? Thanks!
Unless it's been removed by some physical process, MOST barrier coats are 'good for life'.
Bottom painting is for keeping marine growth off your hull. Most important in high fouling waters (tops is saltwater) or places with with populations of nusiance organisms. (like Zebra Mussels)
