I found this used cruising spinnaker, it seems a bit narrow and maybe a bit tall. How tight should the luff be when reaching as high as possible? I really really want to go sailing.

You really ought to get one of those ice boats on wheels.
BTW, Frank, your photos have been posting EXTREMELY slowly since you switched from the mac.net servers to the cox.net servers.
Hey frank, Is that an asymetrical spinnaker? Or is an asymetrical different from a cruising spinnaker. I see you don't have a spinnaker pole up. Just another dumb question.
Try that again with about thirty knots of wind.....maybe you can rig a servo to the steering wheel in your truck, oughta get twenty to thirty mph out of it...
All kidding aside, it seems a skosh long, take the pictures and the sail to a sailmaker, and probably for not too much $$ he can trim the thing to fit.

I have no problem with downloading this thread with pics. Of course I have a fibre optic internet connection, which is faster than cable, or anything else for that matter.
That sail looks to be about a perfect fit - like it was made for a C25. I wouldn't have it modified at all.
Also, disregard the wise cracks regarding the wisker pole. When cruising they come in handy, even when using it with your asymetrical shute.
Good luck with your new sail. Above all, have patience. They take some time to learn to fly properly. Remember, this is an off-wind sail not a down wind sail.
Frank, You are not very far from Tulsa. There is a quality sailmaker here named Roger Kerr. I am quite happy with the 110 jib that he made for me. He runs a one man shop and was an active racer for many years. Give him a call.Kerr Sail Makers (918 437 0544)

Roger's the skipper. He makes nice sails and knows how to us them. Jerk!
It looks just like my Asym Spinnaker. Sunday was poor wind, so downwind I flew the chute from Alcatraz to Brisbane, about 9 mi. I did use the whisker pole after I passed the Bay Bridge to keep it full and I had the main out wing-on-wing with a preventer. GPS said I was doing 6+kts, but that was with a 2+kt current. Still, fun sailing.

Now for the next question, is it worth $500? I say no, it seems a used cruiser should sell for $250-$300, what do you think?<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
I would have to agree with you that a used sail should be less, but then again if the sail is of good quality and condition then the higher figure might be okay.
For me, buying used means getting an unbelievable deal. I'm somewhat embarassed to say how little I paid for my new cruising spinnaker and loose-footed mainsail.
