The Newport to Ensenada race starts at noon on Friday April 23 from Newport Harbor. That's about 70 miles north of Mission Bay. We should be able to leave at 3:30 or 4 PM and sail out and see the big boys blast by before sunset. 500 boats are expected to enter. I think seeing them go by would be fun. Not sure how far offshore they expect to be in our area.

Anyone interested in setting out to see them?
