I recently replaced the pinrails in my '85 C25. Here's the before and after pics. I think it really dresses the interior up more.

Nice work. I recently did the same and as you found out, it adds some storage to that area.
My question: Why is the water your boat is in so green ?

Hey Dave & Sharon,
Nice job on the pinrails. I see you too still have that wonderful earthtone upholstery and its in nice shape. Not to change the subject, but have you ever considered or priced getting them re-covered? I'm thinking about it and was just curious.
I like the pinrails!

IndyJim, we have considered reupholstering, and I would absolutely love to. We can only do so many things in a year, so that may need to wait until next year. It would still be relatively expensive to do that. I had to focus on a new mainsail, rope clutches and deck organizers, complete bottom job and other things this year.

IndyJim,

I just priced a new set of covers for my "At Last" and found the the price can vary as much as 30% depending on the material that you select. Basically, the price to recover my existing cushions came to $1200.00+/-. I got that price from a reputable locally owned auto/boat upholstery shop. I also got a price from a guy working out of a business location basement... it was for $600! I really think that the first price is closer to what a good job by someone who will stand by his work will cost. I have decided to wait until this fall to get the work done and will continue to shop around until then.

BTY, I think that we met at the Indianapolis West Marine store a little over a year ago. If you are the Jim who has a wheel rather than a tiller on your C 25, then I'm sure of it. You were very supportive of a newbie who had bought a boat without ever sailing before... thanks.

Steve,
Uh... yep, that would be me. I think they're going to give me a cot to sleep on in the back room at West Marine. I spend too much time and money there!

Yes, I'm the guy with the wheel on my C-25 but don't get that thread started again, I've suffered enough abuse! I'm glad to have been a little help to you. Of course all the things I told you probably came from this great website.
