The spouse has alloted me a few pesos to spend on the boat. I want to replace the main/genoa sheets and put some new speakers in the cabin. Of course, I have the West Marine and Boat US catalogs, but was hoping you guys might tip me off to

The terms "discount" and "marine supplies" do not normally go together. It's a bit of an oxymoron.

Having said that, I can assure you that Defender is cheaper than West on nearly everything except a few particular electronics. I used to shop at West

If you do shop at west or boat us. Join their clubs. I believe if you are a member of the association you can join Boat US for a cheaper rate. The cash back isn't much, but it does help.

I also got a MBNA bank Credit card through Boat US that gives

I'm replacing my genoa sheets this time around also. The DPO had what looked like 9/16". I bought 3/8" Trophy braid. It has a good hand, but is primarily for cruising. One thing to think about is you have to handle the stuff under tension, so, while it's

If you are a racer, buy the lightest, strongest, lowest stretch line that you can afford. 5/16" is plenty big enough.
