As often as we talk about motor mounts on this Forum, I've yet to see a photo of one that is anything like the one on my boat. Does anyone know what kind of mount this is?
Thanks!

Dunno the mfg. name, but that's the original mount that was on both my '79 C25 and the 77 V23... for some reason or other I think it might have been a Fulton.

The motor mount pad could use replacing, but it's stronger than it looks. I've thought about replacing it, but I think I'd rather upgrade to a new mount rather than to put any money and extra effort into this one.
This motor mount works OK, once you get used to its quirks. However, it only has to support an old Mercury 7.5 hp O/B (2-stroke). Like Dave & Bruce pointed out, it wouldn't work with a heavier 4-stroke on it. Also, I checked the link that Dave posted above, and Fulton recommends this motor mount for fresh water only.
So, thanks for the help everyone ... now I see why my motor mount looks so different from the new ones that people are upgrading to.

Yup, they used aluminum bolts.
When I dismantled one of mine the pivot bolts literally disintegrated into powder where they passed through the mounting frame. The bolts looked perfectly ok from the outside... so if you have one of these that's ever been around saltwater, I'd advise checking them.
This is the same motor mount that came dealer installed on my boat in 1974. The boat had a Mercury 9.8 with extra long foot installed on it. I never had any problem with it during the 12 years I had the boat. It was kept in inland lakes, but did take a trip to the ocean for one weeklong cruise.
The model in my link above is just one of several that look like that. They have another that's for salt water--I would think Catalina would have selected that. Nonetheless, I wouldn't put a high-thrust 4-stroke on it. This is the first time I've seen or heard of an OEM bracket other than a Garhauer on a C-25.
The motor mount is also the same one that was installed on my '76 Catalina 22. I replaced it with a heavier bracket, and only had a Mariner 4 on that boat.
