In one of my finer moments, I managed to bend the 5/16" threaded T-bolt of my forward lower shroud while raising my mast last week (I will not say how, it is just a little embarrassing). I went to West Marine and bought a replacement, but it does not look as beefy as the original. I went to the Catalina Direct web site and it seems that you can not buy just one part of the running rigging.
Does anyone have experience with replacement T-Bolts and Toggles?
Bill, I...uh...did the same thing earlier in the season. I don't think it was really much more than not paying attention while stepping the mast, but it bent nonetheless. So, like you I went to West Marine and got replacements. (I thought I'd replace another bent one while I was at it) But they look the same to me. And they work fine. Luckily, at West you can get just the portion you need and not the whole thing. Just thought I'd let you know that you're not the only dummy out there!
I've got a couple of spare t-bolts and toggles from a couple of turnbuckle probs I had a few years ago. (cross threaded the opposite t-bolt (replace entire unit) Send me an email, and let me know what size and thread direction you need. They're yours for the asking if they meet your needs.
