Does anyone know where to get, or if you can get, an outboard engine bracket spring. There are two and one of ours has broken. We have a 1982 Catalina 25, swing keel. Any info really appreciated.

Deborah: I had a bracket with a broken spring as well. I thought I could replace the spring untill I saw that they are welded in place (Gerhauer type). I contacted the factory and they ended up selling me a new one at their cost. I thought that was a reasonable comprimise since my unit was almost 20 years old. Bruce Ebling 1989 WK "Selah"
Deborah, While you're contemplating a new motor bracket you might also consider a bracket that would accomodate a new motor in the future, e.g., a 4-stroke, if not currently. Garhauer has a very good reputation for quality.
See the tech tips for a couple of ideas on booster springs for the motor mount. If you can get replacement ss springs from the builder at a reasonable price - go for it, but I found that the springs are expensive. I use a couple of springs from the hardware store that cost less than 2 bux a piece, coat them with linseed oil and just replace them when they begin to look shoddy.
