In treating the rusty areas on the keel I've come across a bondo-like substance filling in the imperfections. I've had to grind out quite a bit of it and was looking for suggestions as to what to replace it with? Would thickened epoxy work on bare metal?

Hey Tim, When I ground my keel down to bare metal I faired the imperfections with Marine-Tex. This stuff is bulletproof. I put on five generous coats of the Interlux System 2000 water barrier with only 2 or 3 small rust spots resulting after four sea
Tim, I did mine last year, it turned out great. This is what I did.
1. Grind off the loose stuff. 2. Coat the entire keel with endrust (2 times) it will turn black. 3. Fill in where needed with marine tex (white). 4. 2 coats of a good epoxy barrie
