The first test is in. (A quick update) I did the bottom job, new Nissan 9.8 4 stroke on a Garhauer mount /w/ transom re-inforced with Starboard. Everything went really good. The motor is just as others have said, very quiet and powerfull. On the throttle there is a spot to set the RPM for re-starting a warm engine just past that the power ramp starts. When I set the throttle at that point (just above idle) the boat does 4 kts. The things you hear the most are the 'pisser' and the bow wave. With just a little more throttle and I'm doing 6 kts. The sound most distinct is a soft humm and the lock down clamps...I put an outboard lock on them and that stopped them from rattling. So far I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
The Garhauer mount lifts the 93lbs motor with a little effort on my part. Easily managed by my wife. I still think a little stronger spring would be perfect. I give it 4 out 5 stars.
As far as the new bottom goes, I'll let you know after the races

congratulations on the splash. We will be up in hunignton for the High Sierra Regetta, second week end. If you are there perhaps we will see eachother. We ususaly have a croud on the boat for the race so look for the C25 with crew hanging over the sides.
