Hey, I just discovered a neat way to clean up the teak stains where my brightwork is attached. I had taken off the grab rails etc, refinished them, and reattached them with Boat Life "Life Caulk" (white). I returned a day or so later to peel off the areas where the caulk has gooshed out, and when I peeled off the hardened goosh "bead", the previously stained disgusting looking stuff that was "permenantly embedded" into the cabin top came right off with the Life Caulk bead! Am not sure how or why, but I have tried every type of solvent, little utility knife, scrubbing, etc to get those yucky stains up and until now nothing had worked... Am going back to get another tube of (clear) Life Caulk to experiment with. (With caulk being so messy to apply I should have less work with clear) Also, I had Epiphanes varnish stains and tiny blue tape scraps in addition to the cetol stain- it ALL came off, and left the waffely grip stuff intact and looking brand new. Wow. So, I wanted to share my newfound discovery, as I see those stained edges on almost every boat in the marina. Good Luck! Karen :)
